The Blake School seeks to hire a dynamic Lower School Spanish teacher, with native or near-native Spanish language proficiency, for a six-week substitute position, beginning in late October. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in second language acquisition for young learners, successful elementary school classroom experience in a 100% target language environment, and familiarity with TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) and TCI (Teaching with Comprehensible Input) principles. Candidates should be passionate about sharing their love of languages with students. Blake is particularly interested in candidates who will enrich the diversity of identity, lived experience and thinking that makes a community strong and empowers students to engage across differences.
