  • Provide instruction in Mandarin kindergarten in both Spanish and English.

  • Contribute leadership, evaluation, and development to new program design and implementation.

  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate these objectives to students.

  • Strive to implement by instruction and action the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.

  • Assess students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.

  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.

  • Work with small and large groups and individual students.

  • Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

  • Familiarity with Total Physical Response (TPR) methodology for teaching in an immersion program.

  • Assist with the preparation, organization, and maintenance of teaching materials, classroom supplies, and learning games.

  • Monitor movement of students from one instructional area to another.

  • Maintain orderly and accurate records, reports, rosters, and attendance records for assigned site.

  • Maintain good rapport with students and parents/guardians.

All applicants must have a valid teaching license with ECE Authorization. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to speak, read and write fluently in both Mandarin and English. The district literacy program, Read Well, is taught in English.
