DATE OF APPOINTMENT:

1 Full-Time Probationary
(This is the two-year college equivalent of a tenure-track position.)

Beginning Fall Semester 2012/August 22, 2012

ORGANIZATION:

Minneapolis Community and Technical College is a two-year college located in
downtown Minneapolis, serving the diverse, multicultural communities
of the Twin Cities. MCTC enrolls 53% students of color. The college
provides a comprehensive offering of developmental, liberal arts, pre-
professional, professional, and technical programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Teaching college-level courses in Spanish, primarily the first four semester sequence.
• Participating in and leading review and implementation of curriculum.
• Participating in student assessment and departmental meetings.
• Participating actively in the life of the college community

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

•Master's degree with a major in Spanish, or master's degree in
any discipline/field with a minimum of 16 graduate semester
credits (24 graduate quarter credits) in Spanish.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•Teaching experience in a community college.
Demonstrated commitment to the academic needs of non-
traditional students, including older students, minority/
multicultural students, non-native speakers of English, and
students from non-traditional backgrounds.
Demonstrated experience with the development of assessment
strategies and practices across all levels: classroom,
department, and college.

SALARY:

Based on education and experience in accordance with the
Minnesota State College Faculty contract, including an excellent
package of employee benefits.
