    Introduction:  West Metro Education Program (WMEP), Joint Powers District, #6069, is an 11-school district consortium comprised of Minneapolis and ten neighboring suburban school districts, whose mission is to build the collective capacity to achieve eduactional excellence and racial equity. We will serve our 100,000+ students and staff through regional leadership, collobaration, commitment, and support.     FAIR School Downtown, located at 10 South 10th Street in downtown Minneapolis, is the first interdistrict magnet school created and built by WMEP. It has a capacity of 600 students with a current enrollment of 500 students in grades K-12 in an award-winning facility. It features an interdisciplinary multicultural program that integrates the arts throughout the curriculum is enriched by the many educational, corporate, government and arts resources available in downtown Minneapolis.

     

                                                               

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Teach students while using the WMEP mission as the foundation for creating a safe and motivated classroom environment.
    • Plan, present, evaluate and provide feedback to Spanish students daily.
    • Asses progress of students; provide feedback to students and parents.
    • Differentiate instruction as needed for all students.
    • Teach with adaptations for students with IEP's and 504 Plans.
    • Attend staff meetings and committee meetings as assigned.
    • Communicate with parents regularly.
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

      

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Current Minnesota teaching license - 7-12 Spanish.
    • Understanding and Application of Minnesota State Standards for Spanish grades 7-12.
    •  Experience teaching in a diverse setting preferred.
