    The Department of Languages and Cross-Cultural Studies at Augsburg College, Minneapolis campus seeks a fixed-term instructor for beginning and intermediate Spanish in both fall and spring of academic year 2014-15. The beginning courses (SPA 111 and 112) are taught in a "hybrid" format that includes a 3.5-hour, once-a-week block in the evening and a 70-minute online component. Institutional support is available for development of the hybrid component. The intermediate courses (SPA 211 and 212) are taught in a traditional face-to-face format during the day, three times a week. Salary is $5320 per course for 111 and 112 and $4000 per course for 211 and 212. Fall semester runs September 3-December 12 and spring January 12-April 24. We prefer a candidate who can commit to all four classes (or at least to the two in the fall) but are willing to split the position if necessary. Required qualifications: 1) MA in Spanish; 2) classroom teaching experience in beginning and intermediate Spanish. Preferred qualifications: 1) ABD or PhD in Spanish; 2) familiarity with liberal arts settings; 3) experience with online or hybrid teaching.     Minnesota Online High School (MNOHS) is currently accepting applications for a part-time adjunct Spanish teacher. This is a long-call substitute position, approximately 0.20 FTE, depending on enrollments, for the full academic year. Additional assignments may become available as the school grows. MNOHS teachers work from home. Hours are flexible, although all teachers are required to be online each weekday, Monday through Friday, and to hold regularly scheduled online office hours.

    • Complete Teaching Online, the MNOHS training course, and participate in ongoing online professional development (synchronous and asynchronous)
    • Teach in a highly interactive and collaborative online environment

    • Minnesota teacher’s license in Spanish (secondary level)
    • Excellent communication, teaching, and strategic skills
    • Computer with high speed Internet access
    • (Preferred) Experience collaborating with Special Education staff
    • (Preferred) Experience as an online student or in online teaching
